Macro Monday - Cherry Blossoms

Back in March we took a trip to Washington, DC to visit their famous cherry blossoms which were in full bloom all around the city but were primarily located around the place known as the Tidal Basin. These trees were given to the people of the US by the people of Japan in 1912 as a gesture of goodwill. Some of the original trees still stand in various locations around the city.

For more information on the trees check out this link and if you're interested in taking a trip to DC to see the blooms, I recommend googling for tour buses that will take you to the specific areas because the places get quite crowded and there's very little parking.
